My name is Olalekan "DJ City" Oyewusi, founder of Abcity Entertainment, and my journey in music and entertainment spans more than 25 years.

​

My passion for music began in Nigeria, where I was introduced to the entertainment industry at a young age. Through family connections in broadcasting and radio, I had the opportunity to learn about sound systems, studio equipment, and the technology behind music production. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong passion for music and entertainment.

As my education and life journey continued, I attended the University of the West Indies in Barbados, where I was exposed to a variety of cultures and musical styles from across the Caribbean. During this time, my music appreciation grew even stronger, helping shape the multicultural DJ style that I am known for today.

​

After moving to the United States and attending the University of Massachusetts Boston, I began providing DJ services for local events, community gatherings, and private celebrations. What started as small events quickly grew into a successful business through referrals, hard work, and a commitment to providing exceptional service.

Today, I am proud to be the founder and lead entertainer at Abcity Entertainment, serving clients throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, and destinations worldwide.

Over the years, I have performed at more than 500 weddings and hundreds of private, corporate, cultural, and charitable events. I typically perform at 50 to 60 events each year and have had the privilege of entertaining thousands of guests from diverse backgrounds and cultures.​​​​​​​​​​

DJing for university organizations, graduation celebrations, cultural festivals, corporate functions, destination weddings, and nonprofit events. I have performed for events connected to organizations and student groups from institutions such as the University of Massachusetts Boston, Boston University, and Harvard-area student organizations.

​

​One of the most meaningful experiences in my career was providing entertainment for members of the deaf community. It reminded me that music is more than sound—it's energy, emotion, vibration, and connection. Watching people experience music in their own unique way reinforced why I love what I do.

Giving back has always been important to me. Throughout my career, I have regularly donated my services to charitable organizations and community events because I believe entertainment has the power to bring people together and make a positive impact.

In addition to professional DJ and MC services, I also provide uplighting, monogram lighting, dancing on a cloud, cold sparks, ceremony audio, and event production services. I invest in premium-quality equipment, including professional QSC sound systems, wireless microphones, backup computers, and redundant equipment to ensure reliability at every event.

One thing my clients often appreciate most is my dedication. There was even a time when I was involved in a serious car accident on my way to a destination wedding. Despite the circumstances, I still completed the event because I understood how important that day was to my clients. After the wedding ended, I received medical treatment for my injuries. That experience reinforced something I have always believed: when a client trusts me with their event, I take that responsibility seriously.
